So. They're re-releasing the video game Grim Fandango, tweaked for modern hardware. Cool enough. Even cooler?
Improvements don't stop at the visual, though. The game's composer, Peter McConnell, wasn't happy with some of the digital samples he used to create the score, according to Schafer. While they were able to recover the original Pro Tools sessions for the audio, Double Fine also rerecorded the score with full orchestration, thanks to the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, with whom the developer also worked on Broken Age. Grim Fandango Remastered players will hear the score in a new way during the game's credit sequence.
Fond nostalgic memories of playing this game when it first came out. I'd be willing to give it another shot with the 'upgrade'. I seem to remember there being a soundtrack release?
I would love a Lucasarts Boxset or Soundtrack Collection on CD.
Wouldn't we all? That would be a dream.
THE DIG is one of my Top 50 soundtracks of all time, regardless of medium or format, but I dig (no pun intended) all the other ones too. Several of them already have soundtrack releases, so it would just be a matter of collecting it all and putting it together in a way that makes musically sense.

I want one too! And I am with Thor on THE DIG, such a wonderful soundtrack by Michael Land!

...or Monkey Island I really enjoyed the remastered version of the games.
I would also love to see a remastered version of the game TIE FIGHTER (incl. original MIDI music)
The current Humble Bundle game package includes the GRIM FANDANGO REMASTERED soundtrack as a digital download, as well as the soundtrack to LOOT RASCALS:
By the way, don't buy that "Director's Cut" version of the soundtrack if you already have the original 1998 album (great btw): It just adds 14 tracks from that old album to the standard "Remastered" album (2015) because those pieces have no "remastered" counterparts or contain vastly differences (like solos) compared to their "remastered" versions.
This is getting released on CD, but in order to get it you have to buy a collector's edition set for PC:
PC fans, we're giving you a Grim Fandango: Remastered Collector's Edition that includes the OST + game on CD PLUS a piƱata USB drive loaded with a copy of the game.
I'm not willing to fork out that much just to get this on CD - but man, if I had the extra cash I would. Love this soundtrack so much. There is no indication at this time that they will offer the CD separately.

Hi Ryan! I would not anticipate Limited Run Games to ever release the CD separately - I have never seen them do that at any point in history unless the CD is offered separately at the same time as the collector's/limited editions of games. I've pined for such a situation myself with a ton of LRG's releases. I follow VGM very closely too, and will be sure to post here and/or let you know if I see this one ever on the horizon!
I still have the original release for PC, and the remastered version for the Nintendo Switch (though I have not yet played the latter... I played the game once when it came out originally). This was one of the best Lucas Art Adventure games, on par with the classic Monkey Island titles.
