Seeing as this score is a 2014 Oscar nominee, I thought it might be a good idea to start a topic for it. As such, here is my review is of the score for this biopic of the great British landscape painter, for anyone who is interested:
Excellent, beautifully orchestrated and performed score that seems to approximate in musical terms the haunting abstract paintings of Turner's late career.
Yershon is a terrific composer, his lovely, buoyant Happy-Go-Lucky score being my favorite. Hopefully the Oscar nomination brings him some exposure and gets him more work outside of his collaborations with the great Mike Leigh.
