Okay, I think I've got this, based on the most recent comments I just saw. Andre Gagnon, who did the score for John Huston's Phobia in 1980 and the film Running in 1979.

I got it by doing a search for zoobs quote!!

Cheating? You bet.
In the words of Donald Sutherland's Pinkley. "Nev-ver heardofit!"

AND THE DOCTOR IS VICTORIOUS!!!!

My next clue was going to be:

The Starring actor was 35 years of age when he made the film and his current wife was 10 years old at that time.

I've got one, but it will have to wait. My regular photo-hosting site is down for maintenance.

Cool Bob. No hurry. Thanks.

For those who may want to hear more of Andre Gagnon's music, here's a link to a bunch:

Sorry I deprived you of that killer clue. I'm usually rotten at guessing these things, but it just happens that I've been revising an article on music in Huston's films, so when the clue came up about a director in 1980 who was a Hollywood legend he was the first person I thought of.

Cool thread Zooba! I would play along, but I've never seen these films , much less heard the scores. But I enjoy reading along.

Yeh but identifying the composer just from the sound is fun.

Lets be honest, such is the signature sound of much of Barry, jarre, morricone, goldsmith, fielding, Goodwin, Budd, Tiomkin, schifrin work is identifiable after a few bars. Almost precludes them - and a few others - from any quiz!
