Yeah, OK, why not? I've no real concern with the leading actor category as long as Julianne Moore wins her richly deserved, loooong overdue statuette! (An actress that has lost to C. Zeta-Jones, Nicole Kidman and Kim Basinger (!) for Christ's sake...)
Even though I've not yet seen Birdman, I've been a Keaton fan since the under-rated Night Shift so I'd love him to win to get some long over-due recognition.
I've always liked Michael Keaton. He's come a long way from the early days when he worked behind the scenes in Pittsburgh with the wonderful Fred Rogers on the Mister Rogers Neighborhood program.
If DC had any sense they'd snap him up to play the older Batman and film The Dark Knight Returns comic tout suite!
What the world needs now is less Frank Miller not more. The man should never have been allowed in the entertainment industry. He and Tarantino have supplied the world of film/ comics with more than enough sadistic violence glorifying rubbish for several eternities.

D.S.
And who made you the judge?
Sorry to blow up your skirt, Pollyanna, but he was a better Batman than Kilmer, Clooney or Bale by a mile. And Westn if you want to go there.
And while I agree Tarantino is a talentless hack, Miller has been writing compulsive stories for years-it's only now he's become a parody of himself because like all celebs he's started believing his own hype.

Great film! My first introduction to both Keaton and Long. Winkler blew my socks off too! After years of playing the cool guy he so convincingly pulled off the shrivel little scared guy. Brilliant! Keaton surprised me as a dramatic actor too.
