I have recently realized that I no longer seem to care much for action scores any more. I like about 60% of Hans Zimmer's work since 2000. Action scores that I like from him are Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and 3, both Sherlock Holmes movies, Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons, Interstellar, and all three Chris Nolan Batman movies. Other action scores that I like are Total Recall (Jerry Gold smith), Masters of the Universe (Bill Conti), The Living Daylights (John Barry), and The Fugitive (James Newton Howard). Maybe my problem is that I don't usually like actions scores or movies. I find they just don't hold up. Almost all of the movies I mentioned are really action dramas, not just straight action movies. What do you all recommend for a good action score from the year 2000-present?

...in addition to the ones posted above, definitely check out anything BOURNE!

(Identity, Supremacy, Ultimatum, Legacy)

Also James Newton Howard's Salt comes to mind, the recent 2-disc Peacemaker complete score, Patrick Doyle's Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, Silvestri's A-Team, Tyler's Expendables trilogy and Eagle Eye.

I have to reiterate Marco Beltrami's A Good Day to Die Hard, too -- tremendous action score.

Safe by Mark Mothersbaugh...totally sounded like a Jerry Goldsmith/Lalo Schifrin score circa 1972.

"Flying A Tank" from Silvestri's score to The A-Team is easily one of the best action cues of the past 10+ years.

YES! And I don't even usually care for Silvestri.

Armstrong's THE INCREDIBLE HULK. Wonderful synthesis of Bourne-style rhythmic action and big thematic action set-pieces.
