What Score Would You Love To Replace?

I would have replaced Dimitri Tiomkin's score for The Unforgiven (MGM 1960)

I would have replaced the sound effects and Daniele Amfitheatrof's score for Major Dundee (1965). Christopher Caliendo's replacement score is a bit much, too.

I would have replaced Michel Legrand's score for Never Say Never Again with John Barry's score for the remake of King Kong (1977).

I would have replaced Robert Cobert's scores for several of Dan Curtis' horror films including Night of Dark Shadows (1971) and Dracula (1973).

Network in the U.K. released Alfred Hitchcock's The Lodger (1927) with a BIG attention-grabbing score by Nitin Sawhney. I'd cut it and replace it with something else.

I would love to have heard what Jerry Goldsmith would do for Superman. Not because Williams' Superman is bad, but because I'm so curious if it would resemble or be vastly different from the work he did for Supergirl.

That's awesome. I'm glad I'm not the only who freaked out when I thought I was listening to Romeo and Juliet while watching STII.

I would love to have Bernstein's soundtrack to the original "True Grit" replace the one in the remake. I would have loved for the makers of the new "Superman" to have used John William's score for the 1978 film.

Out of all Disney films, couldn't Jerry Goldsmith have scored a film more worthy of his talent than something as disposable as MULAN?

You should be thankful he scored Mulan and not The Aristocats.

Trek V with Leonard Rosenman (yes I'm being serious!) wink

Spooky!

I quite like Rosenman's Voyage Home. Hmmm.

I'm looking at all of these and thinking "But I LIKE ______". Especially Ladyhawke and Dragonslayer.

But Robocop 2? Kill it with fire and get Basil back.

They should have put Goldsmith's ALIEN NATION back in to replace Curt Sobel's.

I've seen our THE MUTANT'S clips with it restored and it actually makes the movie better.

Wonder if that would have happened with POLTERGEIST III? No, I don't think even Jerry could have saved that piece of...

But for continuity it may have made it watchable....

then again, maybe not.

Wow. Some of you want to throw out a lot of scores I REALLY enjoy.

That's taste for you, but I'm glad none of this is ever gonna happen.
