Horner scored THE PIED PIPER OF HAMELIN episode of Shelley Duvall's FAERIE TALE THEATRE.

The episode was adapted and directed by Nicholas Meyer.

Here is the End Title music by Horner and then the link to the complete episode for your listening and viewing pleasure. The last part of the End Title sounds much like Horner's THE DRESSER music.

Here is Tim Burton's directed episode ALADDIN AND HIS WONDERFUL LAMP with a score

not by Danny Elfman,

but co-composed by David Newman and Michael Convertino.

Cool Zoob...thanks for the share.
Newman/Convertino combo just like on the original Frankenweenie (and before they fell out).
Horner was nice too.
SO..who's releasing all those scores on CD??

The Newman/Convertino score sounds wonderful. Just like the equally fantastic Frankenweenie by them.

I wish some label would release them. When Intrada did the new Frankenweenie, I was hoping that they`d include the old score on the CD.

Btw, the ALADDIN AND HIS WONDERFUL LAMP episode sure looks cheap.

With the passing of James Horner, I thought I'd bring this thread back for those who might have missed it the first time.

Horner's Pied Piper score for FAERIE TALE THEATRE is pretty cool and a FTT Scores release would be kind of cool.

Enjoy.

Bumping up one of my old threads from the past.

Would anyone buy a Box Set of Shelly Duvall's FAERIE TALE THEATRE Scores?

Thanks Zooba, this was one of my favorite shows back in the day. Had no idea idea this was done by Horner. Thank you.

Very well done production for children with a lovely, subdued score by James Horner. Thanks for posting, zoob!

Since Horner used so few instruments here (sounds like about the number he had on "Testament") would think this wouldn't be a very expensive score to release on CD (even though recorded in Los Angeles with AFM musicians), perhaps as a split presentation, say, with "The Dresser" (ala "The Homecoming"/"Rascals and Robbers"), the latter recorded in London with a similar size ensemble (so no re-use fees for that part of the recording).

But, yes. I'd pick this up.

Yes, it's great. It's among the unreleased titles mentioned here:

Listening to it again, it sounds like a perfect sound for what his rejected ROMEO AND JULIET might have been like. Fits that "period" I think nicely. Who knows? He might have re-used it ROMEO AND JULIET. Not like it would be that surprising.

But, for what it is, it is a beautiful piece of music by James Horner!
