I'm a mainstream comic book guy, so the likes of Ghost World wouldn't have crossed my radar screen. However, as a big fan of director Terry Zwigoff's CRUMB documentary, I should probably enjoy his film of said comic. It's girls, they like comic books, and that girl who isn't ScarJo sure appeals to my sinful nature, and not that you asked, I've always nursed a crush on Illeanna Douglas. https://www.criterion.com/films/28687-ghost-world https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rq6AOc0ATnU Any fans of this movie? Your thoughts, please... "Set during the malaise-filled months following high-school graduation..." Ain't that the truth; I'm still waiting for my malaise to subside. It has been a while since I saw the film, but I enjoyed Ghost World. It has a nice mix of comedy, quirkiness, and sadness. Thora Birch, Scarlett Johannson, and Steve Buscemi all do great jobs. The book it is based on is also worth reading. The film is, at best, a loose adaptation of the source material, but I think they both work.
