I have recently seen the Family Guy Blue Harvest blu ray and there is a conversation with George Lucas on it that starts with very good music, it looks like James Horner, i do not recognise it, is it from Star Trek?. As the music has an annoying echo over it (in the European blu ray version i mean) I am curiouos if someone recognise it, anyone?
It dose sound like Horner, but I can't find that specific cue on the OST. Perhaps it's something from Krull? Edit: OMG, George can't even recognize major Star Wars themes?!
I think it's just music composed in the style of 80's Horner for this special feature. If I am correct, Ron Jones was still scoring Family Guy at the time of these episodes and most likely wrote Horner-styled cues for the DVD release. I don't think they licensed actual music from a Horner score.
Yeah, my first thought was that it's either Ron Jones or some catalog music - seems like an expensive prospect to license Horner for the intro to a special feature on a TV show.
Definitely sounds like Horner, but it's definitely not KRULL or BBTS or ST or any of those usual suspects. Hmm. Library music written during that era perhaps designed to emulate Horner's style? Whatever it is, I really like it!
The interview is fascinating, even if Lucas can't recall the music from his films. He seems like a tired, humble, faintly grump old guy no different from anyone's uncle or grandfather, which I can appreciate given that he's one of the wealthiest filmmakers out there (that still holds true I assume?).

Well he sold Lucasfilm for 4.5 billion dollars then gave all away to charity! I'm sure he still has 4 or 5 billion stashed away for his kids.
