Great bundle! I love the first two ALIEN films, the second being my favorite movie, but the third one is a total downer. I haven't watched the fourth one yet. PROMETHEUS wasn't bad though.

Beware that the Prometheus Blu isn't the 3D one with the large assortment of extra features.

That is an amazing deal. Prometheus is usually cheap but with the Anthology for only $20? Wow.

Digging this up because I came across it while looking for something else, and it struck me as freaking amazing. Oh, I know the deal is no longer around, and the quality of over half the movies in this particular combo is debatable anyway, but still, this was an amazing deal, or at least it would have been at one time - and yet it's not all that uncommon now.

I don't know about all of you, but I remember a time when the whole very idea of owning one's own personal copy of a movie, the same way one might have a personal copy of a book or an album, was like some kind of magical wonderland dream fantasy. And not long after that, it became a reality, but even then, at first one might expect to have to pay eighty or ninety bucks or more for a VHS tape - low resolution, panned-and-scanned so we weren't even getting the whole picture, and absolutely bare bones, with absolutely zip in the way of what we now routinely refer to as special features.

Now, though, it's possible for average folks to not only get copies of movies for a fraction of what it cost then - cheap enough to rival the cost of just a couple individual theatrical viewings, or even cheaper than that - but the audiovisual quality can be absolutely amazing, films can often be seen with excised material restored or even in multiple different cuts allowing one to pick and choose one's favorite version, and even 3d - real, non-anaglyph 3d! - is a home viewing option for those who want it. And so many movies - not all, but immense numbers - are available with an insane wealth of supplementary material, everything from trailers to commentaries to interviews to behind-the-scenes footage to outtakes to music videos to gag reels to EPK featurettes to shorts to isolated scores to entire other movies.

In some ways, we really are spoiled.

The day physical media dies is gonna be a dark day. Then your at the mercy of the streaming services and what they are willing to provide in their library. Things get added but things get pulled as well. And you will be paying a monthly bill for the privilege of revisiting your favorite film or series. I'm not against streaming, I actually like Netflix, but I also want the option to own a physical copy and have the ability to play something when ever I want, and without incurring additional charges.

I have the 6 disc anthology Blu set, all those extras are amazing, & it only cost me about £13 a couple of years ago. Every home should have one (unless you hate the Alien films). Knowing that I'll never have to sit through Prometheus again makes me very happy.
