...I can still hear well enough to listen to my FSM cd's.

... I'm sensible enough not to irritate those around me with long stories they don't necessarily want to hear.

... I'm interesting enough that those around me are actually interested in what I've got to say.

Please post your (sincere) wishes for your dotage.

If you wish to make mean jokes or make fun of old people, please open a separate thread to do so.

... My eyes can still focus on the written word.

... I can still hear enough to enjoy music and good conversation.

... I can still taste a good meal.

... I can still make love with my wife when the mood strikes.

...I'm endlessly cool to the young people of a future generation, like William S. Burroughs was to the Punks of the 1970s.

I can still get my cd player repaired. Several cd sellers have said they really can't find them anymore.

... commercial space travel will be cheap enough for me to book ONE FLIGHT, JUST ONE FRIGGIN FLIGHT. And none of that sub-orbital crap either.

    DVD players don't count?

    I'm in my late 60's, so I suppose I'm already old. Fortunately I'm in good shape at the present time. But as I get older I hope I have the wisdom to:

    know when I should stop driving a car and hand in the car keys;
    know when it's time to hire a caregiver or move into an assisted living facility; and
    if I become terminally ill, know to tell the doctors to stop trying to extend my life. I have an advance directive just in case.
