Couldn't find a thread on this score (just on the series in the non-film-score discussion) so had to start one. Just watched this British mini series this week (came back to Netflix streaming as the American remake, Gracepoint, just wrapped up). A very strong mystery series that's really about loss and secrets in a small town, with wonderful casting top to bottom, starring David Tennant of Doctor Who. And the ambient, minimal, electro-acoustic, disturbing but comforting score by the Icelandic composer Olafur Arnalds is first rate. It's available as an e.p. download from the usual places for five bucks, and all of his own music is also available and very much in the same vein. Here's a good interview with him done for the BBC when the program originally aired: http://www.bbcamerica.com/broadchurch/extras/olafur-arnalds-interview/

You know, Thor, I was hoping at least you would reply to this! I figured this was on your radar, you eclectic dude, you. I was trepedatious about watching Broadchurch, don't care much for grim procedurals, but this was intriguing and thoughtful and not depressing to me even though the story is tough at best. The music was part of why.
