Brian is officially set to score the upcoming sequel "Now You See Me: The Second Act". The film is directed by Jon M. Chu. The film is set to be released on June 10, 2016 by Lionsgate.
Chu, eh? I hope he can choreograph a heist as well as he can choreograph a dance, because otherwise he really doesn't have much going for him. His G.I. Joe flick was a disaster!
I like or love about 90% of Tyler's work, but I just didn't connect with his Now You See Me score. Happy though for all of you others that enjoyed the first score, there seem to be quite a bit of you, and I'm sure you'll dig the sequel score.
Considering that I really like Tyler's music, even though I didn't care for the first score I'm sure I'll be checking out the sequel's tunes anyway! I'll always give the dude a chance.
At least the score wasn't the worst part of the first film, which was quite lame... but quite the opposite and could be easily the best thing about that mess. Hopefully the 2nd one will receive a decent release for a change.
