The trailer got me thinking about what Shore's score to this shorter film would sound like and how I could make a 2-Disk or 2 hour cut of highlights from the score. Like many people on the board, I like a lot of what Shore did with the Hobbit scores, but find the complete scores to be a bit bloated.
So, if you were to make a 2-Disk supercut extract from the three scores, what would your tracklist look like? This will be something I'll be experimenting with myself over the holidays.
Actually, I'd prefer someone did a single disc playlist for the Hobbit movies. Just like 3 movies are WAY too much for The Hobbit, 6 discs are too much of this music ( for me ).
Here's my quick idea for a 1 disc "Best Of" for all 3 Hobbit scores. No songs, just score, and without in-track edits (I'd make a very different compilation if I was allowed to do some actual editing).

It was extremely difficult to cut it down to one disc, and I just realized that my playlist completely short-changes the House of Durin theme, which only shows up twice on that compilation. Woops!
