I`ve been comparing the sound of Predator and Predator 2 for several days now. I don`t know what it is. Intrada`s Predator sounds rich and warm. Varese`s Predator 2 sounds shrill and loud. Maybe that has to do with the original recording. No idea. Anyway, the more I listen to Intrada`s Predator the more I get annoyed by Varese`s Predator 2.
It's probably a combination of many factors, not the least of which is the original recording dynamics made on the scoring stage. I actually think the PREDATOR 2 album sounds great, I don't find it overly shrill at all.

The scores were recorded by different orchestra's in different venues. Of course they are going to sound different.

Agreed! Predator 2 is one of Dennis Sands' greatest recordings. Exceptional!
Predator 2 sounds pretty good for the most part, there are some issues with either the mix or the source. Just listen to Subway Predator at the transition 0:48-1:02.
