i think there is some merit to what Solium is saying, that Hollywood runs empty on ideas with these franchises, and they just plug in a new type for a reboot. There is nothing necessarily awful about a female Ghostbusters, but there is nothing very creative or original about it either. It is not all that promising to me. It's at least more creative than a non-female Ghostbusters reboot, is it not? Yeah, I get it - why reboot at all? But this is the world we have, one in which there's surely going to be a new Ghostbusters movie at some point, for better or for worse. Given that, I for one would rather it be for the better, and also for the new movie to have an identity of its own rather than merely referencing the original and calling it a day. Mind you, I personally would also have been up for a straight sequel, up until Harold Ramis died.
