The guy has 3 movies (coming) out, 'Get Santa' which sounds marvelous judging from the samples on Amazon UK (unfortunately download only), the thriller 'Black Sea' has a 'brashly old fashioned score' (according to Variety) and the drama 'Still Alice' which is getting good reviews for Julianne Moore. Surely one of our beloved labels will pick one up...?
Eshkeri is very hit-or-miss for me but Austenland was a delight so I always keep half an ear cocked for him just in case. Off to listen to those Santa samples now.
The poor guy was duped into writing music for one of Korea's most notorious criminals, the cult leader Yoo Byeung-eun, known to Eskheri as AHAE. He was the owner of the Sewol ferry that sank in April killing 300 school children. He was found dead on a hill a few months ago after perhaps the largest manhunt ever. His son Keith Yoo, who is thanked at the end of this video, is currently wanted by Interpol and Korean authorities. His brother was convicted of fraud last month and his sister is in custody in France awaiting deportation. Oach. I imagine Eskheri was well paid though^
