AMERICAN CRIME STORY: THE PEOPLE VS. OJ SIMPSON---the first season of the FX crime anthology series will star Cuba Gooding, Jr. (JERRY MAGUIRE) as OJ Simpson and Sarah Paulson (AMERICAN HORROR STORY) as prosecutor Marcia Clark. Each season will focus on one major crime.
THE DEATH AND LIFE OF JOHN F. DONOVAN---movie underway in which a superhero actor's career is threatened when his letters to an 11-year-old fan are distorted by a malicious gossip columnist. Kit Harington, Jessica Chastain, Kathy Bates and Susan Sarandon star. Xavier Dolan is the director.
SONY PICTURES---in the midst of the Sony Pictures email hacking scandal, leaked emails between Sony Pictures co-chair Amy Pascal and producer Scott Rudin reveal their exchanges on Angelina Jolie wanting David Fincher to direct her CLEOPATRA biomovie instead of the Steve Jobs biomovie.
Rudin's email to Pascal about Jolie said, “I’m not remotely interested in presiding over a $180m ego bath that we both know will be the career-defining debacle for us both...I’m not destroying my career over a minimally talented spoiled brat who thought nothing of shoving this off her plate for eighteen months so she could go direct a movie. I have no desire to be making a movie with her, or anybody, that she runs and that we don’t. She’s a camp event and a celebrity and that’s all and the last thing anybody needs is to make a giant bomb with her that any fool could see coming. We will end up being the laughing stock of our industry and we will deserve it, which is so clearly where this is headed that I cannot believe we are still wasting our time with it.”
A leaked email from David Fincher said he thought Adam Driver being the villain in STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS was a "horrible idea".
STEVE JOBS---Jeff Daniels is being sought for the role of Apple CEO John Sculley. Natalie Portman has ended negotiations to co-star in the biomovie.
RIZZOLI & ISLES---TNT renewed the series for Season 6.
CONTINUUM---Syfy renewed the series for Season 4 which will be the last season.
MINECRAFT---director Shawn Levy (NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM) and the writers have left the movie based on the video game due to creative differences.
BAD ASSES IN THE BAYOU---the third movie in the comedy trilogy is underway with the characters played by Danny Trejo and Danny Glover heading to Louisiana for Carmen Guiterrez's wedding and encounter mayhem.
FINDING DORY---sequel to FINDING NEMO will be set six months after NEMO with Dory embarking on a journey to find her origins, “The movie will be mostly set at the California Marine Biology Institute, a huge complex of sea life rehabilitation and aquarium, where Dory was born and raised. We will get to meet new characters, like an octopus, sea lions, a beluga whale, among others.”

I find that a deliciously ironic statement, considering looking over his producer credits on IMDb shows 95% of it was a series of giant bombs, regardless of financial intake in some cases, that any fool could have seen coming. And of course a series of boring films.
