this Holiday Season, if you do such a thing?

I am buying myself: EL CID 3 CD SPECIAL LIMITED COLLECTORS EDITION from TADLOW.

I love everything these guys get their hands on. They truly honor great film music and the superb Maetro's that composed it!

I thought and hoped we were getting NAPOLEON AND JOSEPHINE: A LOVE STORY Gerald Fried / Bill Conti from INTRADA but was disappointed. Nic and the City of Prague folks would kick it out of the park. If the Original Tracks never come out, I'd love for Tadlow to do their magic with it!

And so, what will you be treating yourself to?

Thanks.

My FSM "Kris Kringle" was Advice and Consent and he kindly bought me Silvestri's The Avengers and Giacchino's Up.

I am giving my family my list of CDs they can choose from to buy for me. I try to pick CDs that might be at a Barnes and Noble because that's where they would shop as opposed to online.

And I just treated myself to The Betsy. I have been waiting for it for over 20 years!

Unfortunately, none of the recent Varese, LaLaLand or Intrada releases really excited me. I might pick up Peggy Sue one day, but otherwise................ meh.

ST- Enterprise. $73 w/ s&h, but Disc 4 alone is worth the price of admission.

Dr Who- The Snowmen/The Doctor, The Widow, and The Wardrobe Xmas specials album.
This appears to be out of print or hard to come by for some reason. I had to pay a a small premium for it from England.
Anyway, I have the album of Dr. Who- A Christmas Carol (just lovely music, and that song...!) and I thought this would be a good Xmas-y companion.

The new DSD remastered Il Buono, Il Brutto, Il Cattivo/Per Qualche Dollaro In Piu' and Novecento, both re-released by Rambling Records and having been fortunate to catch a quick preview of both cd's, (well you have to check that they're undamaged etc.) I must say I'm impressed. Il Buono, Il Brutto, Il Cattivo has never sounded this good and Novecento is a big improvement soundwise.

Since my birthday is a few days after Christmas, I have two chances to treat myself. But I'm not sure yet what said treats will be...

Predator 2 and Shaft for me. If my budget allows it, maybe also the Elfman Batman set

Nothing.

But I have TONS of new music to listen to, in preparing my 'best of' lists.

I got the 2 recent Barry releases, 'Peggy Sue' and 'The Betsy', the new Hobbit score, the soundtrack recording of 'Into The Woods' and a couple of Christmas CDs like I do most years.

At the moment, nothing. If I get any money for Christmas, depending on the amount, I will get something new or something used. If I don't get enough to justify a CD, I can't afford to buy anything until September of next year.

Something New:
I'll check out what's close to selling out from LLLR and Intrada and the FSM dwindling catalogue, and see what needs my immediate attention.

Something Used:
I'll go through the used section at SAE and check out Soundtrackers. I ended up getting two or three used CD's from Soundtrackers last year and one on-sale CD from SAE. Probably spent under $19.00.

I'm treating myself to Barry's "Mister Moses." It's a complete blind buy, but 1) it's Barry, and 2) everyone says it's fantastic.

Excellent choice! "Mister Moses" IS fantastic. Best soundtrack release of 2014 new or old, IMHO.

I guess my Xmas treat for myself would be the 50th Anniversary TARDIS box of DOCTOR WHO scores. I'm keeping up with some of the new releases from the various labels but that is the only splashy big buy for Xmas.

Well I made a 'bonus' order of CDs from ImportCDs.com since they had a 10% off coupon and among them was Dolphin's Tale 2, A Million Days to Die in the West, and Goldenthal's Othello Symphony.

I don't really treat myself this time of year as I just tend to buy scores I like as and when they come out.

However, with all the great scores released recently I should hopefully have several packages arrive in the next week or so which will give me something to listen to during the two week break from work.

Debney: The Passion of the Christ
Elfman: Batman & Batman Returns
Arnold: Shaft
Silvestri: Predator 2
Rozsa: Fedora
Shore: Hobbit Battle of Five Armies
Barry: Peggy Sue
Herrmann: Day the Earth Stood Still
Filmucite 3: A Biomechanical Symphony
Delerue: Cartouche
Delerue: To Kill A Priest
Delerue: Queenie
Horner: Far Off Place
Broughton: Presidio

Should keep me quiet for an hour or two smile
