Wonder if Jerry and orchestra got this one done in one take? I wouldn't want to have to look at that more than once myself.

The famous Franco Nero "Jock Strap" fight in THE SALAMANDER! Please post your fave ludricous scored scenes.

Would it be ludicrous if it was a fight in a shower room between Scarlett Johansson and Jennifer Lawrence?

YES, he really scored it.

This is the one that comes immediately to mind -- John Williams' most shining moment? wink

How about any of Anakin's and Padme's love scenes in "Attack of the Clones" (a film I otherwise liked)? Man, those scenes were clunky.

A little bit, true, but hardly compares to the above.

Here's a tricky one too:

And the excellent release of Angelo Badalamenti's score by Music Box Records:

Do we count TV, too? How about "South Park"? Where Garrison chases his newly grown penis on the back of a mouse as dramatic music plays.

Why not? It's party time!

I know, right? Can you believe that these composers actually scored these scenes, just like the producers and directors told them to, instead of telling them that the scenes were awful and that they just wasted two years of their lives making a steaming pile of s***? I think that any composer with integrity would do that. Personal standards are way more important than getting fired all the time and not being able to support yourself and your family.

This is similar to Henry Mancini's "Baby Elephant Walk" sequence in "Hatari". The music is essential for the visuals to work. I actually like John Williams' 60's style latin lounge piece.

Anakin and Padme's romance was actually the first thing that entered my head when I saw the thread title!

Would it be ludicrous if it was a fight in a shower room between Scarlett Johansson and Jennifer Lawrence?

Not unless it was shot badly. The ludicrous thing isn't that it's naked men fighting. That scene can be done in a incredible, tense way, as it was by Cronenberg in Eastern Promises. The Salamander scene is ludicrous because it's a completely inept bit of filmmaking.

Oh, I do too, don't get me wrong. Love that stuff. But it's funny to think that this is the composer who gave us SCHINDLER'S LIST!

Loved this! Thanks for posting, Thor. I have never seen "Bachelor Flat," although I own and love the score. It would be wonderful if he performed the 'Mambone' scene live to picture at one of his Hollywood Bowl performances! That would really confuse the lightsaber-wavers smile

Yeah. I'm waiting for the moment in a JW concert where -- when shouting for encores -- someone stands up and shouts GIDGET GOES TO ROME or BACHELOR FLAT among all the STAR WARSes and INDIANA JONESes.
