Just the other day, posting on one of at least two PETER GUNN/MR. LUCKY threads,

http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=93825&forumID=7&archive=0

I had occasion to mention the 1943 Cary Grant movie on which Blake Edwards based his MR. LUCKY TV series. Now I notice that TCM will broadcast MR. LUCKY as part of their "Star of the Month" tribute to Grant, tomorrow morning at 8:45 AM EST / 5:45 AM Pacific. (It really should have been shown in the evening, as it's one of Grant's best, most essential vehicles, but with such an embarrassment of riches in this star's filmography, I have to forgive the network for their scheduling.)

Naturally, the scoring approach in this golden age Hollywood product is nothing like Mancini's score for the TV version, but it is a typically excellent job by Roy Webb, making great use of the Arthur Schwartz song, "Something to Remember You By," as its main love theme. The score works perfectly in conjunction with such top flight components as production design by William Cameron Menzies, a great cast, and a snappy script full of comedy, romance and drama.

Check it out.
