Its not the same but you also have a few surrogate brothers on here.

Thanks, Bill - that's how it feels, mate.

Tell me the two of you never went to see Mandingo??!

In my memory it was a double-bill with Straw Dogs (ABC Haymarket, Newcastle), but I might just be linking the Susan George connections.

My condolences, Chris.

Thanks, Peter.

And Bill - good call with Puppet on a Chain. That should indeed be on the list.

My condolences as well, Chris. frown

Yes, I did notice GOLD in your joint movie list. It relieves me to now learn your brother was with you when you underwent this very impressive experience (as you once detailed to me which I will only further specify to the extent that you did so in your usual hilarious fashion wink).

So sorry about your brother, Chris. It's great that you have those memories to cherish. After all, once someone is gone that's all we really have, isn't it?

My younger brother is my only sibling and we're five years apart. As kids we had polar opposite interests and personalities, but in recent years those gaps have diminished considerably and we're closer than ever despite living over 1000 miles away from each other (ironic, eh?). Heck, we even swap film scores!

Take care, brother, and thanks for sharing your memories with us.

Thanks, Urs and Josh. The good wishes on this thread are a great reminder of why I hang around here. It's the people, not the film music info, that keeps me coming back.

I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved brother.

I have only one memory of going to a film with a brother, and that was JAWS back in first run. He was old enough to drive and had to take me a long way to get to see it. The film was finishing when we arrived in the lobby. He let me peek in to the auditorium, but only for a moment until the shark appeared!

And thank you for telling us about your memories of him.
