PEGGY SUE GOT MARRIED: The Deluxe Edition
Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
Music Composed and Conducted by John Barry

John Barry at his most magical. A classic John Barry score treated to a massive expansion and all shined up with a new mix so it sounds better than ever! It’s John Barry’s music that transports us back in time in this film. His score is achingly beautiful and so touching. It captures the all of Peggy Sue’s love for her family and longing for home. New CD also features all of the period songs from our original release. A MAJOR Varèse Sarabande CD CLUB release!

Join Kathleen Turner in her Oscar-nominated role, (1986, Best Actress) along with Nicholas Cage and Jim Carrey, in Francis Ford Coppola's triumphant tale of love and acceptance. If you could turn back the hands of time, how would you change destiny? This is the question facing a divorcing Peggy Sue, when she is suddenly transported from her 25th class reunion, back to her senior year in high school! Enabled to alter her future, Peggy Sue dares to stray from the safe path which led to her unhappiness. This time around, she's following her passion, come what may! PEGGY SUE GOT MARRIED once. But will she do it again? And with the same man who broke her heart the first time around?

That's the first OST Barry release since... I can't even remember. Well done Varese smile

It's 8am in the UK and I'm sat in bed with the netbook waiting for the announcement. A nice Christmas present to start December.

Heady times for Barry fans at the end of 2014 with this and the two re-recordings. Our cup runneth over smile

Do you get to suggest ideas for release, DMD?

Stunning! One of Barry's most gorgeous scores. Already ordered, I couldn't be happiersmile

The cue "Peggy Sue's Homecoming" is the kind of music only Barry could write - hopeful, joyous and innocent, yet at the same time nostalgic, filled with aching melancholy.

The original album had goofy sound and like 13 minutes of score. This has WELL over 30 some minutes of music added. So you prefer 13 minute score albums?

There is SO much more gorgeous music here. There are other grat composers out there besides Jerry smile

This, along with Falling In Love and Shaft, are my three purchases for Christmas. So glad to see a Barry! Just listened to the first sample. What a superb piece. It's another Barry winner. I can't wait to play the CD! smile

A great shame that Screen Archives is charging $5 extra for Peggy Sue/Predator and $4 extra for the other two. At a time when purse strings are tight with so many titles coming out, it's disappointing. European customers like myself may have to look elsewhere, i.e. Moviemusic smile

Finally!!! Thanks Varese!!!

I kept hoping and here it is (hopefully as I'm across the pond) in time for Christmas.
By my reckoning this is 40 plus minutes of Barry's music (including the alternatives) to enjoy!

The other CD Club releases are all terrific too, but for me at least, this one just beats everything else announced/released recently.

Mike

If I am not mistaken, Varese does not offer wholesale on club releases so that is why other sites mark up the price.

Hah, you can´t.

THANKS, VARESE! GREAT RELEASE! One of the master´s best scores, finally in its entirety so one can fully appreciate and enjoy this must-have music.

You'll find everywhere is adding extra onto these club releases. They have to buy them from Varese at the same price as you or me hence they sell them for a bit extra. The only way to buy them at the list price is to buy direct from Varese.

Beside the Bond scores I'm not really that familiar with Barry. Listening to the samples, this sounds gorgeous! Might order two albums of this batch after all...
