Ennio Morricone just announced that he will resume his concert tour starting on february 1st in Amsterdam. He is well again and just needs time to prepare and organize the concerts. There will be 200 musicians, singers and crew including soprano Susanna Rigacci and his good friend Dulce Pontes. He will perform his best known works but also a few beautiful surprises. He recorded a video message that you can see on youtube;

I thought the ALL CONCERTS CANCELLED!-thread was too misleading for this topic. Everytime I saw it I thought that he would never perform again. Everytime it came up again after a reply I was mislead again. Had I replied about the concerts resuming in 2015 what would come up as a topic is ALL CONCERTS CANCELLED!. So everyone would think they were canceled once again. Also a Prague -concert topic would not fit this news (it's not just Prague). I hope you now understand why I started this very clear topic so everyone understands what's going on with the concerts.

Interview by the German television channel WDR:

I planned to return my ticket in case of a postponement but I changed my mind after watching the video message. I can't disappoint the Maestro.

I seem to recall he was going to play a concert in Manchester (UK), supposedly next month but cancelled. I wonder if that will get rescheduled.

They show a clip from Django Unchained (ugh) and comment how his music can be heard in that movie, yet the clip has Goldsmith's Under Fire music playing... *facepalm*

Wenn Sie den Ersatztermin jedoch nicht wahrnehmen können, senden Sie uns bitte binnen sieben Tagen die unversehrten Originalkarten und das im Anhang beigefügte Rücksendungsformular an die folgende Adresse:

So they want me to return the ticket within 7 days and they will not refund any shipping price? I'm not sure I understand this one correctly. What a joke. They asked me 50$ for shipping the ticket to the US.

Kind of difficult to deal with them on the phone since I haven't spoke in German for a few years now.

I want to make a formal complaint to the manager but it is very difficult.

That's correct. (if you don't want to use your ticket for the new concert date)

You accepted the general terms and conditions (allgemeine Geschäftsbedingungen) by purchasing your ticket. In my opinion you can just ask politely for a partial refund of the shipping price as a gesture of goodwill.

He, he...I was just about to make the same comment. I also thought the questions were rather poor (typical questions from non-film music savvy people). And of course -- I had to give my German knowledge a workout, since you always dub things down there. Grumble, grumble....

That being said, it was nice to see his "humble abode", his work room and in general to see him walk around.

Yup - O2 London concert moved to 5 Feb. I've waited nearly 40 years. Another couple of months isn't going to kill me.

I guess I will never see him at this point after 3 cancelled shows in 2014, all within ~2 weeks notice (NYC and Frankfurt). Oh well.

Film-composer Ennio Morricone announced today that after nearly a year of recovery from a spinal injury, he will reschedule his upcoming show at The O2 on Wednesday 10 December 2014 to Thursday 5 February 2015, this will now be Morricone’s only UK concert.

I guess that means that Manchester is a no go.

That and Birmingham now show as cancelled on the Ticketmaster website, though they haven't contacted me to tell me. It says you have to contact them to arrange a refund! Wankers.
