Fantastic story about how Tyler Bates scoring Devil's Rejects for Lionsgate led to LLL getting out all their great Warner Brothers titles!

They mention that they have an "anniversary release" they are pushing for the end of the year - guess one of the Black Friday releases came out in a year that ended in a 4 or a 9 wink

They article also mentions they hoped Ladyhawke will be out this fall; They've since announced it won't be out until next year (the interview was conducted in August).

Can anyone provide a Cliff's Notes version of the story for those of us who don't subscribe?

(Shame on me, I know.) smile

Well, it's the 10th anniversary of The Passion of the Christ, but assuming they're referring to another one of their Black Friday titles it could be (among countless other possibilities):

2004
Hellboy (would be a nice companion piece to The Passion razz)
The Polar Express
Spider-Man 2
Troy

1999
Deep Blue Sea
The Iron Giant
The Matrix
The Mummy
The Thin Red Line
Wing Commander
The World Is Not Enough

1994
Forrest Gump
Interview with the Vampire

1989
Ghostbusters II
Leviathan
Licence to Kill

1984
The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension
Ghostbusters
Starman
The Terminator

1979
1941
Moonraker

1974
The Man with the Golden Gun
Young Frankenstein

I would totally gobble up a Polar Express or The World Is Not Enough. I think LLL would have more luck in getting the Arnold scores than the Barry ones.

Thinking about one of their top five projects from their original wish list 10 years ago that will be finally released - an unreleased score at the time of the movie from a favourite composer - I'm thinking that maybe things were sorted out for Batman & Robin. Fingers crossed for this one!

There is only one 2 disc set for Black Friday, which we know is Passion. So sadly, it doesn't look like Batman & Robin.

I was not thinking about a black friday title, but another title that they mentioned that will be finally released soon.

Yes, at this point this can be true - at least they released Batman Forever on 3-Jan, so maybe B&R will be released just at the beginning of 2015...
Sweet dreams smile
