FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 14

JAMES BOND---reportedly, Christoph Waltz has signed to play the villain in the 24th Bond movie. Rumors say Waltz might play Ernst Stavro Blofeld, head of SPECTRE, since MGM/Danjaq acquired the Blofeld/SPECTRE rights from the estate of Kevin McClory (THUNDERBALL) last year. Writer John Logan earlier said, "Bond should always fight Blofeld." The premiere is November 6, 2015.

LONGMIRE---Netflix is in negotiations to acquire the canceled A&E Western and develop Season 4.

FREQUENCY---NBC series underway based on the 2000 movie that starred Dennis Quaid and Jim Caviezel. The movie plot had a man who used a ham radio to communicate with his father, who died 30 years before, and they team up to solve a murder. The tv pilot will be written by Jeremy Carver (SUPERNATURAL).

PERCEPTION---TNT canceled the series due to low ratings.

SECOND BORN---sci fi movie underway set in the future where human consciousness is stored on microchips which allows people to trade bodies while retaining their own thoughts. This leads to a black market of trading bodies. Park Chan-Wook (OLDBOY) is the director.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2---director James Gunn commented on if trhe sequel would have Star-Lord, et al. taking on Thanos as a prelude to the Infinity War, "I don’t feel beholden to that stuff at all. I think it's really about the Guardians and what they are doing. We're not subservient to the Avengers. GUARDIANS 2 is not a movie that's made to move toward 'Infinity War.' It's something that's made to move toward future cosmic movies, so I don't feel that that is something that affects me that much."

THE BLACKLIST---Ron Perlman will play the villain, an international thief, in the episode following Super Bowl XLIX on February 1.

Aw, sorry to hear this. I thought it was well done and enjoyed it very much. Oh well.

Frequency - to take this into a series seems to me to be plundering a gem that ought not be plundered. It was pretty clever and original. Instead of trying to continue with tales about this - and thereby no longer be original or clever - they should just look for new property/ideas...

Blofeld doesn't fight. He delegates.

And he does not tolerate failure...

I seem to remember Blofeld trading blows with 007 in OHMSS. At least, Blofeld did not just sit in a chair whilst expecting his lesser valued operatives to get it in the neck. wink

There still hasn't been anyone playing that character to equal the ominous authority his unseen features had in "From Russia" and "Thunderball". Telly Savalas in "OHMSS" wasn't ineffective but he hadn't any real HEFT to him.

Max Von Sydow - courtesy of Der Great Scot's casting in "NSNA" - had potential but wasn't around long enuff to really register.

So let's see what they come up with this tyme around. Hay, it certainly can't get any worse ...

I liked the way Savalas held his cigarette. Nobody does it better. smile
