I bought this years ago, and cheaply, too.

This was a recent blind buy and it's fantastic. Highly recommended for Kilar and non-Kilar fans alike, especially at the budget price.

What's immediately striking about this score right from the opening cue is how playful it is. That's not something typically associated with Kilar, but he concocts a sprightly main theme and, in a way typically associated with Kilar, bounces it around the orchestra. Not to be outdone, he returns to his wheelhouse a few times and lets loose with a gorgeous theme that's both melancholic and whimsical. It gets a couple of showcases in "Que la vie était belle" ("Life was so beautiful") and "L'envol" ("The Flight").

It's not a very long album, clocking in around 30 minutes, but frankly I find that refreshing in this day and age.
