I see Aleph Records published an Extended Edition but that feels like the film score while the Collector's Choice is an album rerecording (like 'Jaws' was). Is this right?
Do you think any label will produce a definitive edition for its 40th anniversary this year instead?

I wasn't aware there was a 'Collector's Choice' issue of the score.
But in any case, the score has never been 're-recorded' - has it? The Aleph is basically a reissue of the Warners 25th Anniversary 'special edition' release which accompanied the Warner Home Video release of the film, and it contained more music (and a great remix/remastering) than all the previous issues (LP and CD), all of which had included Bruce Lee's silly fight noises. Lukas sold off the remaining stock of those CDs as I recall, and it's one of those that I bought. Still sounds great.
I always hoped there would be another release, with any alternates or deleted versions, etc etc. And a proper booklet.
But as it turned out, Lalo himself re-released the 1 hour Warner Home Video version instead, with an extra track as noted in one of the posts above.
I've always wondered if he just didn't want it messed about with by anyone else...
