TUESDAY, OCTOBER 28

DOCTOR STRANGE---Benedict Cumberbatch is in negotiations for the starring role.

TRUE DETECTIVE---Taylor Kitsch (JOHN CARTER) confirmed he's in late negotiations to co-star with Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn for Season 2. Rachel McAdams will play the fourth leading character.

AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON---Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige said the Marvel Cinematic Universe will change after AGE OF ULTRON with the third movie having a different superhero team, "It's like as it was in publishing, when each of the characters would go on their own adventures and then occasionally team up for a big, 12-issue mega-event. Then they would go back into their own comics, and be changed from whatever that event was. I envision the same thing occurring after this movie, because the [Avengers] roster is altered by the finale of this film.”

SUICIDE SQUAD---supermodel Carla Delevigne is in talks to play a villain. Speculation is that she might play Harley Quinn, The Joker's sidekick. Other villains reportedly in the movie are Blockbuster, Multiplex, Jaculi, Mindboggler, Captain boomerang, Vixen and Deadshot.

BATMAN v SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE---a source who spoke to Ben Affleck's personal trainer said Affleck will wear two Batsuits. The second one is similar to the comic book THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS, "The armored suit has Kryptonite all over it, and it can shoot missiles." The source also said Affleck will drive two different Batmobiles.

BETTER CALL SAUL---Bob Odenkirk said about his BREAKING BAD spinoff series, "It's 85 percent drama, 15 percent comedy."

CBS---gave full season orders for NCIS: NEW ORLEANS, SCORPION, STALKER and MADAME SECRETARY. NBC is developing a new variety show with comedy sketches, musical numbers and mini games. Neil Patrick Harris will be the host. It is a remake of a British variety show.

WIRE IN THE BLOOD---ABC remake of the British tv movie series. The ABC version will be set in New York where a clinical psychologist teams up with a female detective to solve murders.

SHAKESPEARE'S SISTERS---the CW and Mark Harmon are developing a series about young William Shakespeare who " finds himself caught in a deadly conflict among three witches and the most powerful woman in the world, Queen Elizabeth."

Exactly how many times has Marvel changed The Avengers line-up? Hulk was in then he was gone. Cap joined in Avengers #4, Thor was replaced by Hercules....etc etc etc Just about every character has been on the team at some point including Spidey and Wolverine.

re Suicide Squad, Vixen is not a villain. Sometimes the Squad includes heroes, depends on who Amanda Waller can blackmail, bribe, cajole. into her little band of operatives.

I LOVED the British TV series WIRE IN THE BLOOD. It was a gutsy series that was raw and adult. ABC will have to water down this series due to regular network censorship which is a shame.

The actors' contracts are running out. Cheaper to bring in new blood than negotiate new contracts with the stars who will demand a lot more money to re-up.

Also better to demonstrate the continuing viability of the Avengers team-up idea even with less-known characters as original characters age out of the roles, etc. Remember when everyone was like "Guardians of the Galaxy? Is Marvel nuts?" And now that's a huge successful property and they have a whole cosmic side of the universe opened up for their stories and twice as many characters to play with. Once they have Avengers 3 where they mix in a bazillion heroes, they'll be more or less free to add whomever they want to their big team-up event films and still have 'em pay off.

Plus, they're not getting any younger...will we really want to see a fifty-year-old Chris Evans as Captain America?

And they've already had one cast change (from Edward Norton to Mark Ruffalo).

Plus is that any different from recasting Cmdr. James Bond of Her Majesty's Secret Service?
