Regardless of the source, it still sounds like "Younger Than Springtime" to me. "Moon River" and "Goldfinger" share the first 3 notes. It happens. Rugolo wrote a library of cues that were recorded in England and tracked into the series. He really didn't have control over what went where or who also contributed to the series. My source is my late friend, Pete Rugolo. I have a score copy of the theme in Pete's hand that I treasure.
I take it you watched the TCM presentation the other day? Anyway, I have to laugh because there most certainly is a parallel. So we have two of 'em from South Pacific, this one and of course "Bali Hai" in Bride Of Frankenstein (although in this instance the former came after the latter).
