When I was at pioneer working on the laserdisc of Samson and Delilah, no tracks could be found. There was almost nothing from the pre-1949 era at all.

They're on the Intrada site now.

A treat for Friedhofer fans!

Maybe for Friedhofer completionists. I don't find them to grab me much from the samples. Plus the last one is too scratchy for me.

Interesting to see there's a "Prelude and Foreword" listed in the extras, for Bride of Vengeance.
The Bride of Vengeance/Captain Carey CD had only a "Prelude".

WILD HARVEST / NO MAN OF HER OWN / THUNDER IN THE EAST (Hugo Friedhofer)

I remember when Doug Fake stated in his article on "The Great Unreleased Film Scores" in an issue of Cinemascope that "Wild Harvest" was one that he wanted to release. Well, after a quarter of a century after that article ran, it's now a reality.

Doug Fake is very fond of Hugo Friedhofer.

I wonder if these are 3 of the missing Friedhofer/Paramounts of the late 1940s-early 1950s.....

WILD HARVEST - 1947
SEALED VERDICT - 1948
NO MAN OF HER OWN - 1950
ACE IN THE HOLE - 1951
THUNDER IN THE EAST - 1952

Hmmmmm.....??

Good show, old bean. Looking forward to these.

ROBO WARRIORS (Richard Band) is the 1990s scifi score.
"....presented by Republic Pictures and Paramount British Pictures Limited."

the 1990s synth score was ROBO WARRIORS (Richard Band)
"....presented by Republic Pictures and Paramount British Pictures Limited."

It's not just synth, there's a sizable brass section that gives it some muscle.

It might be Friedhofer's "Ace In The Hole" which is a '51 Paramount film.

filmusicnow.....I think I pretty well covered the Paramount/Friedhofer score possibilities (except for JUST FOR YOU), here:

I'm still convinced the Golden Age release is three of these titles.

Great work Manderley! smile

This looks like a great Friedhofer CD, thanks Intrada!

Amazed by this new Friedhofer disc.

Being strongly interested and ready to accept also archival elements in whatever quality, I look at this Friedhofer as another precious target perfectly centered by Intrada.

Moreover, after the surprising release of BRIDE OF VENGEANCE in full body (a vibrant score that I had dreamed for years), I remain now amazed by the additional “Main Title and Foreword”, that makes the whole Intrada output a continuing and never ending library.

Obviously now I’ll wait also for SEALED VERDICT, one of my "most-wanted", of which I remember the high-sounding Main title “a-la Best Years”, with an even better Foreword, and I am sure that Intrada has this already “on program”: if Manderley mentioned the title as a candidate for the actual disc, for me this means that the elements are there for a next release.

Thank you very much, Intrada!

I saw No Man Of Her Own with my father just yesterday, with Barbara Stanwyck, John Lund and a young Phyllis Thaxter. I didn't know Friedhofer wrote the music until I saw the titles!

Spot on Manderley. The scene on the bridge over the railway line vividly reminded me of The Ladykillers.
