My (BBC) Radio 2 listening started in the early 70s, though of course I'd heard much radio courtesy of my parents for many years prior. But, actually tuning in to a programme ... say 1971 or 72 ... I recall that on the day I had my first (portable) cassette recorder - Decca - I recorded some music from a film music programme including Henry Mancini's Charade. And on another occasion I got a recording of Ennio Morricone's Once Upon a Time in the West / C'era una volta il west. And, just as I was getting hooked: there was a John Barry special (perhaps over two weeks) in which I got to hear and record: King Rat March, Doors and Bikes and Things, I Did What You Told Me (Adam Faith) and others. But I'm convinced that the programme was broadcast on a Saturday evening and was not a quiz, per se. During the 1970s, whilst at University, I would tune in during a weekday evening and on one occasion heard a reference to the The John Barry Appreciation Society ... a letter was soon despatched ... and in the early 1980s I do recall entering a quiz on the radio ... name that tune - it was Ron Goodwin's Miss Marple's Theme - and won two LPs: Sharky's Machine and The Border. That was likely to have been a Monday broadcast. I recall the name Ray Moore very well ... but, sorry, I struggle to recall the two programme names you mention. Either or both could be programmes I tuned into - and most likely - but ... ... no, as I type I feel both names are coming back to me. you wait: by tomorrow I'll probably have a clear recollection!
