He really spreads himself too thin these days, sadly. Nothing he's done in the past couple years has been really noteworthy as a result, aside from the spectacular Gantz: Perfect Answer. This year he's rebounded with the new Patlabor scores and Monsterz, though -- really good stuff.
For sure! I really enjoyed that piece from Monsterz you've linked above. I should check out Patlabor, and I liked his Sound of GANTZ album. Nothing has been as masterful as Ghost in the Shell or Avalon lately for me, though Seven Swords was really cool.
