The only bummer about those albums (besides the sound quality) is that they are very dialogue-heavy, as in more dialogue than music. Entire scenes from the films are replicated on the albums, complete with dialogue, sound effects and music. There are a couple of (really cool) songs on each as well, but very few passages that are purely instrumental. I bought the Japanese CD releases back in the early '00s and ended up selling all but Way of the Dragon since it had the least amount of dialogue of the batch and the funkiest (as in wakka-chikka-wakka-chikka) music. The others were pretty much like listening to the movie without the images.
I'd be all over a release of the complete instrumental scores and songs, but good luck finding the master tapes (if they even exist).
I don't know what's on the TAM lp for The Big Boss, but a cd of the Music by Peter Thomas was released not too long ago by Chris Soundtrack Corner
I've got the Peter Thomas CD. The TAM LP contains the Joseph Koo score which is the original score for the film. Thomas wrote a re-score for the European territories release.
