Couldn't see a thread for this.

Buysoundtrax has released this download-only album, performed by Dominik Hauser. My feelings towards "cover versions" are a bit mixed, but I guess I had bought this album had it been on CD. At least this album shows how incredibly many good scores Zimmer wrote during these years, and that Bird On A Wire desperately needs an official release.

Intriguing. Not overwhelmed by the BSX rerecordings so far, but I love the selection of titles. Would be interesting to hear.

I'm surprised REGARDING HENRY isn't included in this group.

Well, there are 17 minutes of sound clips so I guess you get a glimpse of how it sounds.

I'm surprised REGARDING HENRY isn't included in this group.

There are several things they could have included:

Insignificance
Castaway
The Zero Boys
Paperhouse
Fools Of Fortune
K2
Where Sleeping Dogs Lie
Radio Flyer
The Power Of One
White Fang
A League Of Their Own
Toys
Millennium
Calendar Girl
Cool Runnings
The House Of The Spirits
I'll Do Anything
Renaissance Man
The Lion King
Drop Zone

...although some of these perhaps has an orchestral element that synthesist Hauser may struggle a bit with.

I am very fond of that typical charactaristic sound that Hans Zimmer created back then so i am going to pass on this release!

Or that's it's only VOL #1 and it does include a mix of the well know and the not so well know during this time frame?

It's also designed for a more main stream audience then the FSM Board.

As far as Im concerned, Mr. Hauser did a great job, also the theme to FIRST BORN and THE CRITIC really turned out rather well in my opinion.

Ooh - The Critic! I'm sold. Always loved this number.

If you ask me (and if you didn't you should), this number alone is reason to love Hans Zimmer.

The way I understood the "volume 1" part is that volume 2 may feature 1994-2004, and perhaps volume 3 from 2004-2014?

Let's wait and see...

Let's just say that Vol #2 is pretty much done and it should cover 1994-2001 or there somewhere close to that.

I have it (or rather had it), but I didn't like it. Some of the tracks are moderately OK, but most of it is cheap and doesn't pay proper respect to the original soundscapes.
