Overall, this looks like a nice package. It certainly looks like we're getting the complete score here, which is wonderful, as well as the Poor Unfortunate Souls reprise. Unfortunately, while some of the demos are new to us, there are several left off from the Music Behind the Magic set, most notably the "Silence is Golden" outcast. That would have been a nice Lost Chords candidate.. Regardless, this is definitely a nice package, with a lot of new material, similar to the Lion King disc. While only Pocahontas has been announced, this is two for two with complete scores for the 90's animated classics, and gives me great hope for when they eventually come around to Beauty and the Beast and Mulan!
Also, while I know some haven't loved them, I have to say that this is my favorite of the covers so far, another lovely work from Lorelay Bové. Even though they aren't original pieces from the production of these films, they are greatly consistent works that absolutely nail the feel of concept pieces produced by the studio from as far back as the 1940's package features, so I find them immensely appropriate.

Well, that's a relief. I was afraid there wouldn't be any expansion on this one after Mary Poppins and Sleeping Beauty were pretty much the same as the last editions, except for a disc of demos. Now, let's see if they'll actually expand the other scores in the collection, though I'm unsure how Fantasia can be expanded except by possibly adding the Irwin Kostal recording
This is definitely a relief! However, the Poor Unfortunate Souls (Reprise), which was unofficially called Vanessa's Song, was performed by Jodi Benson, not Pat Carroll. Also, it appears that some cues are missing based on the track listing. However, I'm sure they've combined multiple cues into one track like with The Lion King. In any case, it seems like the complete score has been included. :-)
Disney always liked her work, and she was instrumental in creating the look of a number of animated films, such as ALICE IN WONDERLAND, CINDERELLA, and PETER PAN.
She also contributed concept art to various other Disney shorts, such as JOHNNY APPLESEED, ONCE UPON A WINTERTIME, and, specifically, the "POSADAS" sequence from THREE CABALLEROS.

Right on, that was my thought too. At first I really didn't like this style but its growing on me, especially the MP and LM covers.
I've preordered it as well... however, on Amazon it says the title is due to be released on November 24, but the official website (http://thelegacycollection.myplaydirect.com/) says November 17. Anyone know the real date for sure?
I am sorry, no one seems to want to say it, but I have to. The animators at Disney make their characters clean cut and as close to real life as they can. I questioned what Disney was doing to the covers of the Legacy Collection CD, but this one is terrible. After watching the video above, I understand from a artist perspective that you want to give your own interpretation of a character, but this is so wrong of an interpretation. This is one of the princesses I grew up with, but why would Disney let a princess like Ariel be represented as she is on this cover. She is ugly (duck like lips) and looks like a prostitute with all the blush. I will buy this when it is out, but I will have to figure out how to make a better cover, because this one does not work for me.

The style takes some getting used too. Especially if you love animation and the original artwork. Obviously the artist is free to make a stylized interpretation and it's not supposed to be "on model". As was mention, her style is influenced by Mary Blair whom was very inspirational concept artist for Disney.
