Give me Bonfire Night any time. Cold, dark, crisp nights. Roaring bonfires to gather around. Community spirit. Rosy-cheeked children. Good food and warming drinks. Beautiful firework displays. And at the end of it all we burn an effigy of the man who tried to blow up Parliament in 1605. What's not to love?

A bonkers 'celebration' if ever there was one. Fawkes wasn't even the leader of the plot, he just happened to be the one caught and subsequently tortured. Then followed 250 years of further Catholic repression. The English and their quirks...

big grin

You can just imagine Mr Fawkes on the rack, then being strung up and disembowelled and then tied to four horses straining in different directions thinking: "Ah, the English and our funny quirks!"

(Edit - apparently he didn't meet his end that way, but never mind; I think the spirit is close enough...)

I just visited another forum where there's a thread called "31 nights of Halloween movies." 1230 posts across 62 pages and all of it intelligent discussion by film buffs who enjoy the genre. Film Score Forum used to get that kind of participation before habitual thread crappers like Josh Mitchell and Tall Guy decided to derail every topic with their bulls hit.

The moderators over there don't allow thread crappers to use the forum for a garbage can.

surprised you got a nerve to show your face over here again after slagging off tall guy for nothing.
you are the worst thread crapper on this forum Dick. And not quite all the ticket either, are you?

thats rich having a go at our moderator. If anything he would pull you up for the ranting abuse or snottiness you have dished out on various threads to anyone who doesnt agree with your peculiar opinions.

make fsm a better place. Stick with this other wonderful forum. Or maybe go trick or treating?

Oh, this thread's back is it? It's not my thing to either put anyone on ignore or to report them for abuse, so I'll simply provide the following link:

http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?forumID=7&pageID=2&threadID=104348&archive=0

Wherein Richard swears, threadcraps (on his own thread - I believe the expression is "LOL"), is rather negative about several things/people AND accuses those who don't agree with him of being shallow and stupid.

Do the words hoist and petard ring any bells?

Happy Monday!
