I'm wondering if I'm the only one who grew up with fond memories of "The Blue Yonder"...? It's a 1985 Disney Channel movie about time travel and the quest to be the first pilot to cross the Atlantic. David Shire's wonderful score (especially the main titles) has always been a personal holy grail of mine. Since the film is nearly 30 years old (and long since forgotten) I've pretty much given up hope of ever seeing any sort of soundtrack release for it. I have very warm memories of the film and score... I was 10 years old at the time, around the same age as the film's main character.
I would love a release of this as well. Nice companion to Return To Oz.
The film's one that I wanted to like when I was a kid, but I thought the child actor was obnoxious. never revisited it. I had an old tape dub of the score though. Very good music!
Thanks for posting that! I only listened to the opening but it seems like a very lovely score that would be right up Intrada's alley. Since they do love David Shire and they are pretty much the only people releasing stuff from the Disney vaults at the moment, this might just be one they'd consider. I recommend you head over to their message board and suggest it!
