"Boilerplate", "nothing new", and "a nice listen". Damning with faint praise, indeed. And all complaints that have been leveled (frequently) at Newman's compatriot, James Horner. As I've mentioned, I'm a huge Thomas Newman fan, but don't see this at all as "phoned-in". I see this more as a "signature sound", much like, say, Eric Clapton or Carlos Santana - you hear them play two or three notes, and you know EXACTLY who you're listening to. I just don't see this as a problem. Extreme competence, or over-familiarity perhaps, but NOT a problem! If you want something different, there's always "The Good German" or "Whispers in the Dark". I love "The Judge". If this is boilerplate, I hope Newman cranks out enough to rebuild the Titanic.

Just received an aweful CDR from Amazon. I don't mind if it's a MOD disc, but there's no artwork at all, only a plain grey sheet with tiny tracklist. Could someone who ordered this as well please confirm if you have got the same hideous thing??

Mmmmmm!!! Yep. Me. I picked it up for £7.00 or £8.00 off Amazon. The funny thing is I did have a feeling it would be sub-standard when I placed the order. When I got the disc I was a little disappointed but not that surprised. Being a big Thomas Newman fan I decided to overlook it and design my own Custom Artwork

I ordered from Amazon US and it was a CD-R with full artwork. Four panel booklet with the inside panels being black. Fully detailed tray card.

To hollywoodvegas: Could you please elaborate more, I mean, is the CD itself a picture disc or plain silver with just some letters? I also ordered from Amazon USA but what I got has no artwork at all, no four pannels cover, just an aweful gray insert with tiny tracklist.
