Apologies to all, but we have detected two slight anomalies on the CD-1 of "Terms of Endearment", one come from the master (apologies again) and the other fault come from the plant. Although no one has complained so far, we want to be loyal to our customers and we will proceed to provide replacement copies of the Disc One. It's not a terrible failure, but a score and movie like this deserves the best possible edition. About the replacement: - All customers who have purchased the CD on our website don’t need to write us again, within 1-2 weeks we send directly the replacement copy. - We will offer replacement copies to all retails. Please, ask them before, and if they can’t send you the CD, then write to us to the following email rders@quartetrecords.com">orders@quartetrecords.com, and we will be glad to send you the CD. Best, Jose

S.A.E. just informed me to make note of it ON MY NEXT ORDER, and they'd send me the disc. Since I hardly buy anymore, this is not ideal for me, to say the least.

Quartet, thank you for doing this and taking the initiative! These things happen sometimes. Heck look at a much bigger release, Apollo 13. The track listing was ALL messed up if you all remember. So issues can happen at the biggest labels right down to some smaller ones. Glad you are offering a new disc. Nice you making sure this important release gets the love attention it deserves!

This is good news. I noticed a defect on one of my favorite cues and I'm so glad Quartet is proactively handling this.

On my cd, the track entitled Aurora's Night Music abruptly starts a second or two into the cue.

Last Friday we sent all the replacement copies to the customers who bought the CD on our website, all retails, and customers who have bought the CD in other retails but have requested copies to us. Please, for those outside of Europe, have a little patience as it can take from 10 days to 2 weeks to arrive. FYI, the mistakes that we made on disc one were: - Due to a confusion in the mastering room, we have mislabeled one cue, and the track 1 (Main Title) was not the real take that appear in the film. It's the same recording, yes, but with a slightly different mix. The cue chosen by Michael Gore and James L. Brooks was the take 4, and has a bit more percussion, while we had put in the CD, by mistake, the take 6 (which is more closer to the version selected for the Capitol album and, also, have a slight distortion in the original tape). We apologize for the mistake, but these things sometimes happen, although it is not usual. We could have overlooked this and not invest more money, but it would not be entirely honest. Now you have all the REAL music used in the film. - The other error is the start of the track 8 which begins with less than a second cut., but is now fixed. Some collector’s have mentioned here about the possible abrupt break between the two melodies in the track 9, but I must say this is not a mastering fault or an odd edit, it’s the original cue conceived by the composer, and we have respected it. Same with the end of track 15. I just wish that all of us can now enjoy this wonderful album as it deserves. Thanks to all! Jose

Can someone tell me approximately where the glitch is on disc one? I think I know but want to confirm. I am being told I was sent the corrected disc but I don't thinks so. Thanks. The post above yours by Jose from Quartet Records goes into great detail about where the glitches were. I'm sure you would have been sent the correct replacement disc, however, there is a way to find out if you have been given the right one. On the underside of the CD (the non-label side) look for a series of numbers on the inner ring nearest the centre. It has the album code number and a # 3 at the end of the number sequence which verifies it as the replacement Disc 1. The original disc 1 pressing has #1 printed there. And just for the sake of anyone wondering... #2 is indeed Disc 2. Cheers. I love folks that know this stuff. MUCH obliged!!
