I wish there was sheet music for this. The secondary theme is very pianistic.

It's true, ladies and gentlemen: Despite this being a classic score and one of the most famous from Sarde, I've never owned it, I've never seen the film, I've never even heard it. So this was another delightful experience - slowmoving and beautiful, not the military action music I had dreaded for a film about a fort.
