This is an early score by BB, released by Prometheus on CD, containing around 50 minutes of score.
I played it today, for the first time in ages and found plenty to enjoy in it.
The sound isn't that great (not the best tape transfer and the separation/channels sound weird and 'out of place' - probably all they had to work from at the time and transfer technology was no doubt inferior) and the packaging is...I don't want to be harsh, but I've never really taken to the old Prometheus design/layout that much (sorry, just my personal preference).
But some of the music is great, from his adventurous Scottish flavoured main theme to a sweet Love Theme for Alison, some kinetic action music in that typical BB style and lots of brooding, suspense music.
I really love the Legacy & Finale track, Broughton can really write up a melody that sounds tender, tragic, hopeful and 'aged', like it's from that time (if that makes sense).
What say you?

I really enjoy this CD - but then again, you can't go wrong with anything by BB...:-)

A delightful score, Kevin! Although I love Broughton, I acquired this one fairly recently in a blow-out sale and began to wonder why on earth I haven't done it earlier! IMHO it's a highlight of Broughton's career and would be a prime candidate for a re-recording (of course it's highly unlikely that we'll ever get to see one) because the small size of the orchestra - and the transfer, yes - doesn't do the score justice.

P.S.: Compared to other Prometheus releases from that era, the design/layout here is rather good, actually... (OK, let's say it's passable!)

I've wanted to get my hands on this forever; I've never heard a note of this but have heard a lot of great things.
