Right on the mark, Dylan. Couldn't have said it better. He's become one of my favourite composers and I look forward to each new work. Those Frenchies sure know how to write!

I no longer look for great composers domestically (here in the US for me). They just don't seem to exist, or if they do they just take orchestration jobs instead of composing (i.e. Kevin Kaska). Thankfully we have guys like Rombi, Roque Banos, etc. paving a way for great scoring, even if it's not for widely-released films (yet).

I'm a director (well, trying to be!) so I spend ample time prowling the Soundcloud pages and websites for the next generation of composers here in the US and by and large I'm hugely unimpressed with what I hear. Lots of Goldsmith-lite, Beltrami-lite, Zimmer-lite and very few display a GENUINE ear for melody, for invention, for orchestration. These Southern California institutions pump them out endlessly and most of them simply don't have "The Chops".

I'd love to hear some of them try and write on the level of John Scott or the like - It just wouldn't be possible.

I hope in my wildest dreams to one day be able to work with Rombi, Banos, Talgorn, Michiru Oshima - The 'young' composers of today who really, truly "get it" and no how to not only craft amazing themes but also orchestrate in superb, colorful, intricate ways.

Yup Yup. Rombi and Korzeniowski are the two best things in film scores for me at the moment. I hope they get more assignments. I don't mind him just scoring european films but it does become a problem when that makes him have so few movies to score. I'm looking forward to this movie and experiencing Rombi's music.

I ended up ordering both of these from Amazon France site b/c there wasn't any US retailer that was carrying these for ordering. (I was hoping Screen Archives would have these for pre-order, but it doesn't look like it.) Rombi rarely disappoints and I'm looking forward to hearing these, but it won't be until mid December by the time I get both of them! Bummer!

Here is the first track also known from the trailer in the opening post... what a beautiful score!

Just got done listening to the full score a few times through and it is indeed really nice! I can't shake how uncannily it reminds me more of a early Lee Holdridge score (especially OLIVER'S STORY - the melody, the orchestration, the inflection of the themes, the overall tonality) or a 70's Michel Legrand effort than Rombi's past work - Not that that's a bad thing! Just don't go in expecting ANGEL, LOVE ME IF YOU DARE or THE GIRL FROM PARIS or the like - This is cut from a different, but still very melodic cloth. The themes are just lovely. This guys truly is a great melodist.

This one will be in rotation a lot this week for sure!

Another Rombi winner. So beautiful, so melodic - a wonderful album and the source music works nicely in the body of the album.

The movie was unexpected.... The trailer really tricked me.

Just beautiful music. I wish Rombi wrote more scores and worked with more Directors. Same goes for Korzeniowski. Love this tender melancholic thematic scores.

Listen to track 2 Laura where u can hear the full main theme and track 4 Rendez-vous with a LOVELY jazzy writing.
