Hey, fans of THE HONEYMOONERS!

Anyone here have the Blu-ray version of the Classic 39 set? I'd like to switch to Blu-ray over the DVD set but wonder if there's anything missing.

Online reviews indicate that everything seems to be ported over from DVD to Blu-ray, except I can't find any mention of the series original opening and closings, which prior to the DVD set hadn't been seen since 1956. I would hope these are on the Blu-ray set.

They are there, in a couple of different versions, but only on select episodes.

But definitely not as a standalone special feature like the DVD set? (Thanks for the 411, btw.)

No, the selected episodes offer the option of the original openings, closing credits, and Gleason curtain speeches or the familiar syndicated versions. They aren't a separate feature, though. (And there are two versions of the original opening. The Gleason speeches are all similar but slightly different. Of course, the closings differ based on which pair of writers wrote the given episode, but are identical apart from that credit.)

Sweet! Even better than having them as extra features. So basically everything has been ported over from the DVD set. Looking forward to this. Will probably take the DVD set to the used store, then, though I have a sentimental attachment to that set. Reminds me very much of my grandparents, both gone now. And it was the start of my love for the show. As a 47-year old, it wasn't first-run when I was a kid, but it sure is timeless.
