Just watched Billy Wilder's classic comedy "A Foreign Affair" and was captivated by the score by Frederick Hollander. If the original music tracks still exist at Paramount, this would make a wonderful Kritzerland release - and, of course, it would have to include the Marlene Dietrich vocals. Her version of the Hollander song "Black Market" is a masterpiece of double entendre and humour. Interesting to see an uncredited Mr Hollander in the film as Marlene's pianist in the "Lorelei" nightclub sequences. Alistair
From your lips to God's ears. Although I've never seen/heard FOREIGN AFFAIR -- yet -- I've always appreciated this composer's work, especially my childhood favorites ANDROCLES AND THE LION and THE 5,000 FINGERS OF DR. T.
