Look into Contact and The Mummy Returns. I'm also fond of Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life, but it's heavier into the electronics and probably not for everyone.

The Abyss is one of my favourites, and I recently got the Varese Club release of it and have been extremely happy with it.

JUDGE DREDD
THE MEXICAN
MOUSE HUNT (even in a depressingly compromised 30-minute rendition, a marvelous score)
THE QUICK AND THE DEAD
VAN HELSING

Henry, you strike me as a CHiPs kind of guy. Those FSM albums should knock your socks off.

Fandango is a good relative of Back to the Future. Check out that Intrada album.

I am a die-hard Silvestri fan, I just started my collection this year! Here are my recommendations:
The Abyss
Mac and Me
Lilo and Stitch (my personal favorite, although mostly unreleased there are a few pieces here and there)
Judge Dredd
The Mummy Returns
Van Helsing

Yes to all of the above plus Captain America. Have not picked up the score yet but am enjoying his music for Cosmos whilst watching the series.

Silvestri has composed some kick-ass scores, yes!

I adore his synclavier-based scores like Clan of the Cave Bear, flight of the Navigator. I would love a decent release of No Mercy, man that score rocks. The two source tunes he wrote for American Anthem always pick me up.

His comedy music it not my cup of tea: Richie Rich, Parent Trap, The Odd Couple. There's quite a gap in my Silvestri collection in the nineties and the start of this century.

I'm glad to see he.. changed his tune nowadays and again is back at action and sci-fi. Love that!

Lastly, I would like to put in a word for Shattered. I regard it as his first adult score, nothing quirky about that one! An excellent, poppy main theme, which he orchestrally expands in a wonderful arranged thriller score.

And Abyss, Judge Dredd, Young Guns 2, Forrest Gump and the first Chips are must haves.

Predator 2 > Predator IMO, you can find it fairly cheap as well.

Other favorites:

Contact, The Abyss, Judge Dredd, Mouse Hunt, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Cast Away, G.I. Joe: Rise Cobra, Avengers. And yes the recent Cosmos scores by Silvestri are beautiful!

Father of the Bride is the most charming and delightful score Silvesri ever wrote, although quite short, which might be a good thing because too much of it might be overkill.

I love Young Guns 2, Beowulf, Tomb Raider 2, Van Helsing, A-Team especially.

The Abyss is kind of "required reading".

As a saxophonist, I have to add Romancing the Stone to the list.

I was just listening to the "Main Theme" from Judge Dredd yesterday, and holy hell is that some majestic shit.

Don't overlook Blown Away. Silvestri at his best IMO.

Oh yeah, almost forgot: Predator 2 - complete

Amazing how much of Silvestri's catalogue mentioned in this thread on iTunes. Suspect its due to his relationship with Varese which publishes a lot of their old soundtrack catalogue on iTunes and Sony Classical which does same. Only 3 not on from this thread. The Mexicans decca but in print amazon, blowout Intrada in print, and young guns2 Intrada oop but I have.

Make sure search Forrest Gump on iTunes with "rr" as their is a search trap with one r.

Isn't the second one listed supposed to be Blown Away? That one is still in print at Intrada.
