THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 4
SUPERGIRL---DC Comics tv series underway with Michael Green (SMALLVILLE, HEROES) as writer/producer that will be shopped to the networks.
GHOST IN THE SHELL---Margot Robbie (THE WOLF OF WALL STREET) is in talks to star in the DreamWorks live-action movie based on the manga about a special ops team that specializes in technology-related crimes.
THE WALKING DEAD---photo released of Melinda McBride returning as Carol Peletier in Season 5.
THE MARTIAN---Jessica Chastain is the lead candidate along with Kristen Wiig to co-star with Matt Damon in this Ridley Scott movie in which an astronaut is stranded on Mars.
CHILDHOOD'S END---new Syfy six-hour miniseries based on the Arthur C. Clarke novel in which Earth is invaded by the benevolent aliens known as the Overlords. The script is by Matthew Graham (LIFE ON MARS). Nick Hurran (DOCTOR WHO) is the director.
MARVEL STUDIOS---Al Pacino commented on if he would like to appear in a Marvel movie after he enjoyed watching GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, "I would do anything that I could understand in terms of how I fit in it. And you know, of course if I could fit in it. Anything's possible. You know, I did DICK TRACY and I got an Oscar nomination, so come on. I mean, what can I say?" Pacino stars in THE HUMBLING which is based on the Philip Roth novel with Barry Levinson as the director.
GAME OF THRONES---Kristian Nairn said his character, Hodor, and Bran Stark won't be in Season 5, “We have a season off. We have a year’s hiatus."
JUSTICE LEAGUE---Benedict Cumberbatch commented on rumors he will play Martian Manhunter in the movie, "I'm going to let that rumor run."
SHAZAM!---Darren Lemke (JACK THE GIANT SLAYER) will write the script.
THE FLASH---Dominic Purcell will play villain Heat Wave.
DANCING WITH THE STARS---contestants for Season 19 include Lea Thompson, Cheryl Burke, Mark Ballas, Antonio Sabato, Jr., Tavis Smiley, Sadie Robertson, Janel Parrish, Tommy Chong, Michael Waltrip and Alfonso Ribeiro.
THE POSSESSION OF MAGGIE GILL---NBC series under development in which two Portland, Oregon police detectives investigate a series of murders which may be connected to a 15-year-old girl's demonic possession.
HACK ATTACK---movie underway based on the British phone hacking scandal in Rupert Murdoch's news empire. George Clooney is the director.
SLEDGE---slasher movie spoof in which serial killer “Adam Lynch is an original slasher who loves to talk and make jokes as he viciously mutilates the dumb campers who always return to a site of mass murders for no apparent reason.”
