MPI Media Group has detailed Sherlock Holmes: The Complete Series. The upcoming twelve-disc set box set will be available for purchase on September 30th.
Official synopsis: He is known as the Greatest Detective Who Never Lived. Written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Sherlock Holmes comes alive on film in this landmark television series starring Jeremy Brett.
All the classic tales are here for the first time on Blu-ray, as the Great Detective and his faithful companion, Dr. Watson, tangle with the terrifying Hound of the Baskervilles, the beautiful adventuress Irene Adler, and the dastardly villains Colonel Sebastian Moran, Charles Augustus Milverton, and the Napoleon of Crime himself, Professor James Moriarty.

Great news! This series always had excellent production values, but the DVD's are a but murky.
|

|
The first few series took very few liberties, it was only till later, and especially with the TV movies that they went into a different direction with some of the stories.
But still riveting. And Brett remains the definitive Sherlock Holmes for me.

On September 30th MPI Home Video is releasing a high-def Blu-ray Disc version of Sherlock Holmes - The Complete Granada Television Series, a 12-disc set priced at $229.99 SRP. This title has already been on DVD since 2007, but now it comes to BD format for the first time. Package art is below. Or, if you prefer to pick these up in "smaller bites," MPI is also releasing these Blu-ray titles on the same street date:
