Listened to the score multiple times now, and am lamenting the lack of the track that plays at the main menu of the BluRay. *That* is specifically why I purchased the score (!...). Anybody know where this may be available? Is it from The Raid #1? I do not have that soundtrack, so I cannot tell myself.
Sorry Warlock. I saw this movie in the cinemas but have not yet purchased the Blu Ray. Is there any way you could direct us to a source? What did you think of the rest of the score?
The original soundtrack for the first film (available as a separate audio track on the Blu Ray!) is a really cool, early-Carpenter-like score and I am very disappointed that it has not yet seen a release.
I'm not sure if this is the same music that's on the main menu, but the very end of the movie features a cut by Nine Inch Nails (Trent Reznor wrote it) called "13 Ghosts" from the album "Ghosts I-IV"
I love the cut. Mesmerizing, but it's not on the score release.
In the commentary, the director talks about reaching out to Reznor about using this cut for the end of the film. I'm glad I got bored at the beginning of the movie and switched over to the commentary (which is excellent). I'd heard the music before, but had no clue what it was. Couldn't download it from iTunes fast enough.
Too bad you can`t Save As mp3s, though a CD would be awesome. iTunes has the soundtrack; I swear I came across a listing for the actual score CD somewhere (poster with soundtrack size & tagging), and that somewhere listed it as currently unavailable, as if it had been available at some point in time. Perhaps that was just some sort of preparatory mock-up, yet it seems to me it was a vendor site.
Checking the order link... zubba zubba zubba... hmmm. Generic domain link. Could be under construction, or perhaps the score *was* available and now no longer is.
Bill, nope, that Reznor track is far too gentle to be that theme!
Yes, both scores are in the vein of a Carpenter/Howarth approach. Certainly if you liked the first score you`ll like the second. I think I like them more after having viewed them in film context - #1 might be better apart from its film than #2 is apart from its. Still, very good scores.
Nope, I don`t hear it in The Raid either (youtube listen). Hmmm.
