Seriously, did anyone else know this was sold out? I was flipping around TV and I landed on SUMMER RENTAL. Nice music. I go to Quartet's site and it's sold out!

When the hell did this happen?
It actually happened pretty soon after being released
I am sorry to hear, however it's a Silvestri release that was only limited to 1000 units and also released about a year ago so it doesn't surprise me that it is already gone for some time.
This is such a fun CD to listen to. I loved the way Silvestri combined that rhythm/percussion based groove, with sprinkles of synths and lovely orchestral passages alongside them, during his early 80's scores. Such catchy themes and rhythms too. Infectious. Credit Alan Silvestri. He's kept in tune with the moving times and managed to stay in the A-game, despite remaining loyal to his own voice and signature. He can combine the power and thematic strength of the John Williams orchestral sound and the more modern, percussion-based groove of the Zimmer tradition. And now HE rules the box-office, after years of John Williams and James Horner sitting on that perch.
Re-upping this topic made me listen to “The Race Begins / The Race Part Two / End Of Race” again. The finish is just smashing, one of Silvestri’s very best.
I was lucky to get this and another Silvestri two-fer (released by Music Box), after they'd sold out, but before they started fetching silly prices on ebay and Amazon, thanks to good timing and probably people's lack of knowledge that they'd disappeared. I made no such mistake with Overboard, which was a day one purchase, cos I was more familiar with and always loved that score. And Reindeer Games was snapped up for less than 10 euro in a sale, which was cool.
The tech credits for Critical Condition confuse me slightly. They intimate that it's all electronic (synclavier?...usually Silvestri's weapon of choice) with the credit Music Composed & Performed by Alan Silvestri, but there are some softer passages that really sound like strings and winds. There are also sax contributions but those could be performed by AS too. Anyone know the full tech credits for this one?
